Job Description

Built on meritocracy, our unique company culture rewards self-starters and those who are committed to doing what is best for our customers.

Brown & Brown's Risk Solutions team, formerly known as Beecher Carlson, is looking for an Origami Business Analyst to join our team.

The Origami Business Analyst will serve as the primary owner and business lead for the OrigamiRisk platform, accountable for its stability, configuration, and evolution to support complex business needs. While OrigamiRisk is the primary focus, the role will also function as a broader Business Analyst, partnering with IT, compliance, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective solutions across OrigamiRisk and other platforms. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

OrigamiRisk Platform Ownership

  • Act as the primary business system owner and administrator for the OrigamiRisk platform, with end‑to‑end accountability for configuration, data quality, and user adoption/training.
  • Administer and maintain OrigamiRisk claims and related modules, ensuring the platform aligns with evolving business and regulatory requirements.
  • Configure system settings, workflows, business rules, integrations, and custom fields to meet business needs while balancing scalability and maintainability.
  • Own the OrigamiRisk roadmap in partnership with business and IT stakeholders, identifying enhancement opportunities and prioritizing work based on business value.

Business Problem Analysis and Solution Translation

  • Partner with Risk Solutions, compliance, finance, and operational teams to understand complex business processes, pain points, and regulatory requirements.
  • Translate business needs into functional and technical solutions using OrigamiRisk capabilities, including configuration, workflow design, reporting, and integrations.
  • Evaluate when OrigamiRisk is not the best solution and recommend alternative tools, process changes, or hybrid approaches, supporting those solutions through design and implementation.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders, helping them understand platform capabilities, limitations, and tradeoffs.

Operational Support and Data Integrity

  • Provide advanced technical support to OrigamiRisk users, troubleshooting system issues and resolving data or configuration‑related problems.
  • Ensure data integrity through regular audits, validation checks, and monitoring of upstream and downstream integrations.
  • Work with Risk Solutions compliance to maintain audit best practices and control frameworks within the platform.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, configuration standards, user guides, and training materials to support consistent platform usage.

Collaboration and Integration

  • Collaborate with IT teams to implement system enhancements, integrations, and upgrades, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and security standards.
  • Coordinate with vendors and external partners as needed to support OrigamiRisk enhancements, fixes, and best practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Future State Responsibilities (Business Analyst Focus)

Business Analysis and Requirements Management

  • Lead structured discovery efforts to elicit, document, and validate business requirements related to risk, claims, compliance, and operational reporting.
  • Produce clear business and functional requirements, process maps, and data definitions that translate business needs into implementable solutions.
  • Facilitate stakeholder working sessions to align on requirements, priorities, and success metrics.

Solution Design and Process Optimization

  • Design future state business processes leveraging OrigamiRisk capabilities and complementary technologies.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, or automate processes, reducing manual effort and improving data quality and visibility.
  • Evaluate solution options, perform impact analysis, and support business cases for platform enhancements or alternate solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to craft compelling narratives in verbal and written communications for customers, executives, and other diverse audiences.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize, execute tasks in high-pressure environments and manage workloads
