This is a temporary position with an expected duration not to exceed (10) months.
Position Summary:
In this role on the NBA’s Content Strategy & Analytics team, you will help power the league’s social and digital analytics ecosystem by managing the tagging, organization, and integrity of NBA content metadata. You will oversee the end‑to‑end social content tagging process that fuels dashboards used across the organization, including by senior leadership, ensuring that every piece of content is accurately classified and aligned to an evolving taxonomy of players, teams, franchises, and initiatives. You will maintain and enhance the data infrastructure behind our content reporting—monitoring API connections, managing manual data workflows where needed, and developing schedules to close data gaps across platforms. Working closely with data engineers, analysts, and the content publishing team, you will strengthen the league’s ability to measure performance, uncover insights, and support strategic decision‑making. This role is ideal for someone who brings strong attention to detail, a passion for basketball, and an eagerness to gain foundation analytics and content experience in a fast‑paced, highly collaborative environment.
Major Responsibilities:
Own social content tagging process that powers content dashboards shared company-wide, including executive leadership
Monitor and update content taxonomy as needed to include new content franchises, players, and initiatives in tagging process
Develop and maintain data tracking schedule to fill data gaps across platforms
Monitor data and API connections in Fivetran and communicate errors and findings to database solutions team
Maintain manual data entry and export/upload process for platforms with API gaps
Collaborate on data management projects (e.g. data standardization projects, data mapping)
Collaborate with content strategy team to determine data gaps and opportunities
Required Skills/Knowledge Attributes:
Familiarity with NBA basketball, including knowledge of players, teams, plays, and storylines, required
Intermediate experience working with Microsoft Excel
Detail oriented data background and exemplary analytical skills
Knowledge of social media and digital data a plus
Ability to work within demanding timeframes in a dynamic environment
High attention to detail, design, and innovation
Passion for data and eagerness to learn new analytics tools and languages
Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree preferred or relevant equivalent experience
