Job Description:

The Ambulatory Application Manager provides day to day management for Quest's Epic Ambulatory and MyChart Applications ensuring the system fully supports the company's clinical, operational and financial goals. This pivotal leadership role is responsible for guiding the team that operationalizes our most critical ambulatory systems with specialized focus on genetic counselor workflows and genomic data integrations. Reporting to senior leadership this manager will be the direct interface between strategic business needs and technical delivery. The focus of this role will be on maximizing team performance ensuring quality of all system builds, and delivering optimized, high quality, and reliable experiences.

This candidate can work in a hybrid capacity out of the following location: Secaucus, NJ. Salary range: $150,000 to $176,000 per year. Actual compensation will depend on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, motivate and manage a high performing team
  • Set clear goals and accountability metrics
  • Provide timely feedback to coach and develop technical and leadership capabilities within the team
  • Promote a learning culture focused on maintaining epic certifications and continuous skill growth
  • Conduct performance review, define individual development plans, manage capacity planning and actively cultivate the pipeline for future leadership
  • Oversee the team's backlog and project portfolio, ensuring all configuration, optimization and integration efforts are prioritized and executed with precision
  • Lead the Ambulatory and MyChart program portfolio including new implementation, upgrades and optimization initiatives
  • Serve as the managerial escalation point for complex builds enhancements, enterprise level projects and mergers and acquisition integrations
  • Establish and enforce configuration governance, change management standards and documentation policies to ensure quality and consistency
  • Drive lean innovation by identifying and championing opportunities for system optimiziation and automation
  • Act as the primary liaison between Ambulatory and MyChart teams, enterprise Architects and senior business stakeholders
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure the Ambulatory application remains scalable, secure and aligned with enterprise technology goals
  • Communication system performance, risks and priorities translating complex technical issues into clear actionable insights for leadership
  • Assess application enhancement requests to ensure alignment with Epic foundation standards and the promotion of simple, scalable workflows

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 10+ years of extensive experience in Ambulatory and MyChart including multiple full implementations
  • 5+ years' experience managing technical teams or leading large scale initiatives
  • Demonstrated success overseeing enterprise level change initiatives involving optimization
  • Deep understanding of Ambulatory Clinical workflows including scheduling, check-in, and clinical documentation
  • Advanced knowledge of EMR/EHR integrations, including HL7 messaging and APIs
  • Proven ability to lead cross functional teams and influence senior stakeholders
  • Strong program management skills expertise in governance, risk management, and change controls

Preferred:

  • Deep expertise in Laboratory and Diagnostics industry
  • Experience in healthcare mergers and acquisitions
  • Background in continuous improvement eg Lean Six Signma and Agile)
  • Cross certification in other Epic modules (Prelude, Cadence, Care Everywhere)

Work Environment:

Education:

  • College degree in computer science, information science or equivalent work experience (Required)

  • Epic Ambulatory certification (Required)

  • MyChart Certification (Required)

  • Prelude and Cadence certifications (Required)

  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt) to support process improvement initiatives. (Preferred)
