3Play Media is a leading provider of media accessibility and localization solutions. We work with major media brands to ensure that video content is accessible, inclusive, and linguistically accurate across global audiences. We are expanding our network of freelance language experts to support our growing portfolio of subtitling, dubbing, audio description, and transcription projects.
About the Role:Become a Freelance Language Expert Audio Describer with 3Play Media and contribute to high-impact video audio description work. The purpose of audio description is to make the visual content accessible to a blind or low-vision audience. This fully remote, freelance opportunity is ideal for experienced language professionals with expertise in audio description. We are looking for talented creative writers to create, edit, and narrate audio description scripts in French (Canadian) for network and streaming television programming, along with other video content.
What You’ll Do:- Write clear, concise scripts in French (Canadian) describing on-screen visuals in language appropriate to the style and intended audience of the program
- Develop and utilize efficient research methods
- Follow instructions and adapt writing style with feedback given
- Review and edit scripts while providing creative and technical feedback
- Create transcripts or other specialized script files
- Complete projects on schedule within a tight deadline environment
- Document progress of each job using in-house software
- Perform other related and assigned duties
Ideal candidates will be fluent in Canadian French and possess strong English language skills. A degree or experience in Communications, Journalism, Broadcasting, or TV/Film Production is a plus, with a degree in Creative Writing a definite asset. The role requires strong creative writing skills and the ability to craft detailed, creative descriptions of on-screen action. Experience in voiceover, acting, radio, or broadcasting is also a plus. Successful candidates will be highly adaptable, with the ability to quickly learn a unique writing style and master various software programs for audio editing and mixing.
