Job Description

Role Description

We are seeking a Platform Architect to be responsible for the design, development, and deployment of cutting-edge platform solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the architecture aligns with the business objectives and technical requirements. As the Platform Architect, you will leverage modern technologies to build scalable, reliable, and high-performance systems for a key program with the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement robust, scalable platform architectures aligned with VA modernization initiatives and federal cloud adoption frameworks.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance platform capabilities.
  • Ensure security, performance, and reliability of platform components.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in software architecture and development.
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms specifically VA Enterprise Cloud (AWS GovCloud + Azure Gov).
  • Strong understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Tech Stack required for this position:
    • Java, Spring Boot, .NET Core, Node.js, React
    • Oracle, SQL, PostgreSQL, Redis
    • Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, Gitlab CI/CD, Terraform
  • Preferred:
    • Knowledge of Splunk, ServiceNow
    • Knowledge of Okta, Ping Identity, VA IAM services, FedRAMP compliance requirements
    • Knowledge of Kafka, MuleSoft and IBM MQ

Working Conditions

Standard Business hours are Monday through Friday. Occasional extended or weekend hours may be required based on operational needs. Must have reliable internet service that allows for effective telecommuting.
