Job Description

• Responsible for multiple projects of varied complexity. • Engage in the development of design through sketches, modeling, diagrams, massing studies, and other visual formats. • Utilize BIM technologies in development of project models and complete construction documents. • Independently performs a variety of assignments requiring skills in all conventional aspects of architectural designs for projects. • Conduct thorough inspections of buildings and structures to ensure compliance with building codes and standards. • Assess the existing condition of building components based on factors like age, functionality, appearance, and operating conditions. • Participate in design critiques and pin-ups. • Interpret and apply building codes and requirements of other regulatory agencies. • Prepare and revise documentation in various architectural phases including site plans, floor plans, building elevations, building sections, details. • Review shop drawings and submittals, respond to RFIs, prepare site observation reports, and other contract administration tasks. • Lead project coordination and meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor and sub-contractors. • Assist in the preparation of the project specifications. • Coordination of specifications with construction documents. • Participate in constructability review. • Conduct quality assurance and quality control on projects to include reviewing completed reports, plans, estimates, and calculations.

Job Requirements

  • Proficiency in Building Information Modeling (BIM) software, particularly Autodesk Revit, with expertise in architectural modeling and detailing.
  • Proficiency with 3D modeling and rendering tools such as Rhino and SketchUp is a plus.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills for client presentations and team coordination.
  • Position requires the ability to travel both domestically & internationally.
  • Requisite knowledge, interpretation, and application of Building codes and NFPA standards. Familiarity with Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple projects at once.
  • Collaboration skills to work effectively with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills to address complex design and construction challenges.
  • Ability to hand sketch and/or communicate concepts and ideas to others effectively is a plus.
  • Ability to participate and collaborate in a project team setting through all phases of architectural document production.
  • To receive criticism and respond appropriately and professionally.
  • Requisite knowledge and application of accessibility codes, applicable building codes.
  • Strong understanding of all phases of architectural document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of building construction systems means and methods, materials, and industry standards.
  • Ability to conduct space planning, block planning and adjacencies in coordination with building program.
  • Ability to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness
  • Ability to communicate abstract ideas (verbal/written).
  • Strong presentation and interview skills.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with good driving record.
  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or Master’s Degree in Architecture.
  • 5 to 7 years of similar experience.
  • Registered Architect (RA/AIA/NCARB) Licensure is REQUIRED for consideration.
  • LEED Green Associate or LEED AP is preferred.
