Job Description

• Own system design on GCP (Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, BigQuery), including service boundaries, schemas, and reliability trade-offs. • Lead development of event-driven data pipelines using Airflow, Spark, ETL, and Big Data tooling. • Drive AI platform integration using open-source LLMs, embeddings, and speech models; define prompt optimization and evaluation strategies (e.g., LangFuse). • Champion observability and operational excellence across ingestion, QA, and distributed workflows—especially for call transcripts and EHR data (FHIR/Medplum). • Act as a player-coach: contribute code to critical paths while leading technical projects and mentoring engineers. • Partner closely with Product, Design, and Clinical Ops to translate complex technical constraints into clear execution paths.

Job Requirements

12+ years of software engineering experience; 5+ years as a Tech Lead or project lead.
Staff-level scope or equivalent impact.
Expert-level proficiency in Go, Python, or TypeScript/Node, with strong code review skills.
Deep experience with distributed systems, containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes, Cloud Run), and event-driven architectures.
Strong working knowledge of GCP networking and data services.
Hands-on experience with open-source LLM hosting (vLLM, Ollama) and modern RAG architectures is a plus.
Background in regulated environments (HIPAA, SOC 2) or healthcare data standards (FHIR, HL7) is preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication; comfortable authoring RFCs and technical strategy docs.
