Role Description

This position is National Remote. You’ll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in Minneapolis, Virginia, Maryland, or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office for a minimum of four (4) days per week.

The Senior Financial Analyst will support the OptumRx Discount Reconciliation team in generating client discount reconciliations. This role is responsible for:

  • Generating client reconciliations
  • Interpreting client contracts and implementing those terms
  • Maintaining reconciliation code
  • Analyzing outcomes and providing insights
  • Supporting client discount audits
  • Collaborating with other teams as needed

This position is full-time. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

We offer 4-6 weeks of on-the-job training. The hours of the training will be from Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm CST.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform complex client pricing reconciliations through contract interpretation, financial modeling, and data analysis in support of OptumRx’s client pricing commitments for 3,000 + clients
  • Interface with account management, contract management, pharmacy accounting, and legal teams in support of meeting client contractual pricing commitments and influencing change in future client contracts
  • Collaborate with key business partners across the organization to develop, recommend and establish strategies, plans and processes to improve outcomes and maximize client profitability
  • Deliver timely client reconciliations based upon contractual turnaround times and requests submitted by account management
  • Prepare month end, and quarter close business performance reports, including variance explanations and forward-looking performance estimates
  • Support Client Audit teams in responding to audit inquiries and requests with ad-hoc analysis and reporting utilizing various systems and tools such as SAS, Databricks, SQL, and Tableau
  • Seeks out new opportunities for continuous improvement and efficiency

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • 3+ years of experience with analytics
  • 3+ years of experience managing big data sets and financial modeling
  • 3+ years of experience reviewing contracts from a financial standpoint
  • Experience driving business performance in a high growth environment
  • Executive presence, communication and influencing skills with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to build solid relationships at all levels, work collaboratively and influence across a matrix environment
  • Intermediate to advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Ability to work full-time. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.
