Job Description

Jasper is the leading AI marketing platform, enabling the world's most innovative companies to reimagine their end-to-end marketing workflows and drive higher ROI through increased brand consistency, efficiency, and personalization at scale.

Jasper has been recognized as "one of the Top 15 Most Innovative AI Companies of 2024" by Fast Company and is trusted by nearly 20% of the Fortune 500 – including Prudential, Ulta Beauty, and Wayfair. Founded in 2021, Jasper is a remote-first organization with team members across the US, France, and Australia.

About The Role

We’re looking for a seasoned Engineering Director to lead Jasper’s Brand Intelligence team, which owns the foundation of Jasper IQ and Jasper’s API platform. This team is at the heart of how users customize, extend, and integrate Jasper into their workflows, making it one of the most critical areas of our product strategy.

The ideal candidate is an empathetic leader with deep technical acumen, particularly in AI and RAG, who can guide both strategic direction and execution. You’ll inspire a high-performing engineering team, contribute technically when needed, and partner cross-functionally to deliver innovative features that redefine how businesses create and manage content with AI.

This fully remote role reports to the Chief Technology Officer and is open to candidates located anywhere in the continental US.

What you will do at Jasper
  • Lead and scale the Brand Intelligence team responsible for Jasper IQ and API integrations, driving technical excellence and team alignment

  • Bring deep knowledge of AI systems and RAG to inform product direction, architecture, and execution

  • Build a high-trust, inclusive, feedback-driven engineering culture that values autonomy, learning, and accountability

  • Collaborate with product, design, and GTM teams to define priorities, shape roadmaps, and ship features that enable users to customize Jasper to their unique needs

  • Ensure reliable delivery by setting strong processes, resolving blockers, and evolving engineering practices as the team grows

  • Coach, mentor, and support engineers in their career growth, fostering technical and leadership development

  • Participate in architectural planning, roadmap discussions, and executive-level decision-making

  • Play a key role in hiring, onboarding, and scaling the engineering organization

What you will bring to Jasper
  • 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience (backend, full-stack, or infrastructure) with a strong understanding of modern engineering best practices

  • 4+ years leading engineering teams, with at least 2+ years at a senior management or director level in a high-growth SaaS or product-led environment

  • Comfort getting into the weeds: coding, reviewing pull requests, and working through technical details alongside the team when necessary

  • Deep understanding of AI systems, including RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), and experience applying these concepts in production environments

  • Track record of shipping high-quality, impactful features in collaboration with cross-functional partners

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence across technical and business stakeholders

  • Experience managing distributed teams effectively

  • Passion for building generative AI products and developer tools is preferred

Compensation Range

At Jasper, we believe in pay transparency and are committed to providing our employees and candidates with access to information about our compensation practices. The expected base salary range offered for this role is $244,000 - $305,000. Compensation may vary based on relevant experience, skills, competencies, and certifications.

Benefits & Perks

  • FlexWellness program ($1,800 annually) to help support your personal health goals

  • Generous budget for home office set up

  • $1,500 annual learning and development stipend

  • 16 weeks of paid parental leave
