Role Description
The Director of SEO & Content Marketing leads the strategy, execution, and evolution of all SEO and Content Marketing for the home services vertical, focusing on measurable growth in organic traffic, leads, and revenue for our clients. This role owns the SEO and content playbook, defines the future of search in an AI-driven landscape, and builds scalable systems, teams, and workflows that deliver consistent, high-quality performance.
- Oversee a team of SEO & Content professionals, fostering accountability, clarity, and continuous improvement while developing future leaders.
- Align cross-channel strategies, support complex client conversations, and help scope opportunities that grow SEO revenue.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of SEO experience in a marketing agency setting.
- 5+ years of people management experience, leading, mentoring, and developing SEO or digital marketing teams.
- Expert knowledge across SEO disciplines, including technical SEO, on-page optimization, local SEO, and off-page/link-building strategies.
- Proven ability to develop and execute SEO strategies that drive traffic, rankings, and revenue growth for client businesses.
- Demonstrated thought leadership in the SEO industry, with the ability to contribute strategic insights, educate clients, and represent the agency's expertise.
- Track record of leading experimentation and performance testing to improve SEO, content, email, and social marketing.
- Experience leveraging AI to improve efficiency, scale delivery, or enhance margins.
- Strong perspective on AI’s impact on search, including how evolving search experiences, SERP features, and generative AI will influence SEO strategy and content initiatives.
- Experience building scalable systems and processes from the ground up.
- Strong executive presence with the ability to make thoughtful decisions in a fast-paced agency environment.
- Ability to define strategic vision, align teams around goals, and build strong engagement and accountability.
- Experience with call-driven service industries preferred.
- Experience marketing for home service companies (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or similar verticals) strongly preferred.
