Role Description

We are designing the grid of the future!

• Conduct IBR Dynamic Modeling studies related to existing and future ERCOT and other regional reliability standards, with specific emphasis on IBR plant dynamic modeling.
• Perform detailed bulk power system studies using various power system software such as PSCAD, PSSE, and TSAT.
• Conduct IBR modeling: steady state, short circuit, and dynamic.
• Perform various compliance technical assessments on IBR facility rating, protection coordination, and ride-through assessment.
• Process, generate, and maintain data as required for other engineering-related studies.
• Prepare technical study reports for all studies performed.
• Take responsibility for the timely completion of projects assigned while meeting all project quality and budget objectives.
• Identify training needs and present them to the Engineering Manager as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in electrical engineering with an emphasis in power systems.
• 3 - 4 years of experience as a power systems engineer.
• Experience with performing power system impact studies such as Steady State, Short Circuit, and Dynamic Stability.
• Experience with power systems software such as PSCAD, PSSE, and TSAT.
• Experience with automating/programming in Python.

Location

• This position will be remote US or Canada.
• Occasional travel may be needed (10% or less).
