Role Description
We are designing the grid of the future!
- Conduct IBR Dynamic Modeling studies related to existing and future ERCOT and other regional reliability standards, with specific emphasis on IBR plant dynamic modeling.
- Perform detailed bulk power system studies using various power system software such as PSCAD, PSSE, and TSAT.
- Conduct IBR modeling: steady state, short circuit, and dynamic.
- Perform various compliance technical assessments on IBR facility rating, protection coordination, and ride-through assessment.
- Process, generate, and maintain data as required for other engineering-related studies.
- Prepare technical study reports for all studies performed.
- Take responsibility for the timely completion of projects assigned while meeting all project quality and budget objectives.
- Identify training needs and present them to the Engineering Manager as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in electrical engineering with an emphasis in power systems.
- 3 - 4 years of experience as a power systems engineer.
- Experience with performing power system impact studies such as Steady State, Short Circuit, and Dynamic Stability.
- Experience with power systems software such as PSCAD, PSSE, and TSAT.
- Experience with automating/programming in Python.
