Job Description

About the Design Team:

Great design is central to Panorama Education's product and mission. We want our product to both delight teachers and educators across the country and to help them drive action to improve outcomes for their students. At Panorama, you will be working side-by-side with folks from many backgrounds and experiences: engineers, former teachers, product managers, education researchers, client account managers, and more. We believe diversity of experiences lead to better product design and outcomes for the students we serve.

About the Role:

As a Product Design Fellow, you’ll join Panorama’s dynamic Technology team through a 10-week immersive fellowship program. This program is designed to give early-career designers the opportunity to contribute directly to Panorama’s suite of products focused on transformative tools that help educators understand and improve student outcomes.

You'll work alongside a cross-functional squad on real product challenges — from integrating AI into educator workflows to making complex K–12 data more intuitive and actionable. Your work will directly shape how teachers, counselors, and district leaders interact with Panorama's platform to drive student success.

This isn't a siloed internship. You'll be embedded on a product team, paired with a senior design mentor, and given real ownership that grows over the course of the program. Fellows who excel will be considered for conversion to full-time roles.

What You’ll Do:

  • Contribute to Panorama's platform evolution: Work alongside senior designers to craft innovative experiences for educators and students.
  • Explore AI-enhanced workflows: Support the design and exploration of AI integrations into user workflows, helping make data-driven decision-making more efficient and approachable.
  • Participate in discovery & research: Join user interviews, usability tests, and synthesis sessions — building your research muscle while directly informing design decisions.
  • Contribute across the full design process: Bring ideas to life through user flows, high-fidelity UI, and AI-powered prototypes, refining your work continuously based on feedback and real user data.
  • Collaborate & communicate: Present your work to cross-functional stakeholders, practice articulating your design rationale, and learn to navigate constructive feedback with openness.
  • Build empathy for K–12 users: Develop a genuine understanding of the educators Panorama serves — teachers, counselors, principals, and district leaders — and let that empathy drive your design decisions.

What the Fellowship Includes:

  • Dedicated mentorship: Weekly 1:1s with a senior Panorama designer throughout the program
  • Real product ownership: You'll work on features that ship, not side projects
  • Structured growth: Review checkpoints with clear feedback so you always know where you stand and what's next
  • Cross-functional exposure: Regular collaboration with PMs, engineers, and researchers — you'll build relationships across the org, not just within design
  • Conversion pathway: Fellows who meet performance criteria are eligible for full-time consideration. We'll be transparent about what that bar looks like from day one.

Job Requirements

  • 0–2 years of professional or internship design experience; recent graduates welcome
  • A portfolio demonstrating visual and interaction design sensibility
  • Proficiency in Figma, or clear momentum toward it
  • Any experience with AI tools in a design workflow (Figma Make, ChatGPT, or other generative tools)
  • Clear communication: You ask great questions, and enjoy collaborating with others
  • An eagerness to learn, get feedback, and grow as a designer
  • A desire to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment that values innovation

Benefits

  • The salary range for this role is: $32/hour - $34/hour
  • Some of the additional benefits offered are:
  • Health, dental, vision, life insurance, and short-term and long-term disability coverage.
  • Flexible spending account for health care and dependent care
  • Wellness Reimbursement
  • Work from Home Reimbursement
  • Company Issued Laptop
