Job Description

• New Classrooms is seeking a skilled writer to serve as our Grants Manager. • Responsible for writing and submitting grant proposals, renewals, reports, and other content to support the Development team’s fundraising goals. • Ensure the proper management of New Classrooms’ grants, including tracking key deadlines, facilitating strategic donor communications, and collaborating with Finance and Program staff as necessary. • Support the Development team in cultivating new and existing donor relationships. • Serve as project manager for key initiatives supporting all facets of the Development team’s efforts, including certain fundraising events.

Job Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional experience in grants and proposal writing preferred.
  • Candidates without a fundraising/development background but with extensive writing experience will be considered.
  • BA degree preferred.
  • Exceptional writing skills and high degree of intellectual curiosity.
  • Significant experience with project management.
  • Demonstrated passion for/commitment to education and fundraising.
  • Experience with Salesforce or other donor management software preferred.
  • Experience securing funding from national or local foundations is a plus.
  • Experience with federal grants is a plus.
  • Comfort working with numbers, and interpreting budgets and data analysis preferred.
  • A strong work ethic, supported by commitment and excellent follow up and follow through.
  • Willingness to “pitch in” and work as a team player on a spectrum of activities from supporting initiatives administratively to contributing to and executing strategy.
