Role Description
This territory manager role is a remote position, with the ideal candidate residing in North Carolina.
- Agency management of assigned territory (recruiting, training, and supervising agents or sales representatives) including agency relationship and portfolio management and collaboration with the commercial, personal, and renewal underwriters.
- Develop, manage, and execute the territory marketing plan.
- Travel to assigned agents and/or as needed.
- Business planning and budgeting.
- Meeting growth, profit, new business and loss objectives.
- Line underwriting - Knowledge of commercial, personal and agricultural underwriting guides is necessary to provide technical support, assuring that Company policies and standards are being adhered to.
- Meeting producer and policyholder service standards.
- Leadership skills.
Qualifications
- College degree or comparable work experience.
- 3+ years of P&C sales experience required, 5-7 years preferred.
- Must be able to travel 60%-70% of the work week, with some overnight stays possible.
- Commercial lines underwriting experience, a plus.
- Proficient interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.
- Efficient written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to operate computer equipment.
- Valid driver’s license.
- The position may be filled at either an entry or skilled level, commensurate with experience.
