Job Description
Position title: Communal Relations Intern
Reports to: Senior National Director of Communal Relations
Location: New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, or Washington, DC (Remote also available)
Internship duration: At least eight weeks
Status: Part Time (20-25 hours per week)
Pay: $18/hr
The Position
The J Street Communal Relations Department is seeking an undergraduate student, graduate student, or recent graduate as an Intern based in the New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, or Washington, DC area for the Spring/Summer of 2026. This internship is an excellent opportunity to better understand and get involved in J Street’s work.
This is an exciting opportunity to gain deeper knowledge of the American Jewish community and strengthen research and outreach skills. This position is ideal for applicants interested in non-profit work, research, and data management.
Responsibilities May Include:
- Researching Jewish leaders and institutions
- Updating and managing Communal Relations database
- Assisting with outreach to potential new activists
- Other tasks as needed

- Proficiency with Google applications and experience with Salesforce or other database platforms a plus

J Street focuses its work in three main areas: (1) Advocating and demonstrating support for pro-Israel, pro-peace, pro-democray policies in Congress, the media and the Jewish community; (2) Endorsing and raising money for federal candidates who share J Street’s agenda; and (3) Educating the public and raising awareness of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the two-state solution.
Compensation and Time Commitment
This part-time internship pays $18/hour. Interns can expect to work 20-25 hours per week.
