Remote: Portsmouth, NH area 

 

This Financial Operations & Accounting Analyst role offers a strong foundation for professionals seeking to build a long-term career in the financial services industry. The position is designed to provide hands-on experience, structured development, and increasing responsibility within ACA Group’s FINOP Consulting team. 

 

You will work closely with an experienced FINOP leader and gain exposure to SEC and FINRA regulatory reporting, client-facing engagements, and core accounting and financial operations. The role supports professional growth toward licensed FINOP responsibilities over time and is well suited for individuals who are motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to develop technical expertise. 

 

What You’ll Be Doing 

In this role, you will contribute to meaningful client work while developing a strong understanding of regulatory accounting and financial operations: 

 

  • Prepare financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP for Broker-Dealer and Investment Adviser clients 
  • Assist with SEC and FINRA regulatory filings, developing an understanding of regulatory requirements and reporting standards 
  • Review accounting system reports and tie accounts to supporting documentation 
  • Complete bank reconciliations and other balance sheet reconciliations 
  • Maintain and update internal databases used for financial and regulatory reporting 
  • Communicate with clients to collect required information and resolve outstanding items 
  • Learn bookkeeping practices and how to maintain client books across different business models 
  • Progress toward FINRA Series licensure, with the opportunity to assume registered FINOP responsibilities as qualifications are obtained 
  • Support additional projects and responsibilities as skills and experience expand 

 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field 
  • Prior experience (internship, part-time, or full-time; 6+ months preferred) in accounting, finance, or a professional office environment 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft tools, including Excel, Word, and Outlook 

 

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with accounting software; QuickBooks Online experience is a plus 
  • Interest in financial regulation, compliance, or capital markets
