Who You Are:

• High School Diploma is required; a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field preferred.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years of direct experience managing people and teams.
• You have a proven ability to lead multiple teams and manage concurrent initiatives in a fast-moving environment.
• You hold deep expertise in identity and access management, including OAuth/OIDC, SAML, SSO, and MFA, and have direct experience with Customer Identity Access Management
• You’re experienced in delivering secure, highly available platforms across cloud or hybrid environments.
• You’ve worked in insurance, financial services, or other regulated industries, bringing an understanding of the standards required.
• You’re familiar with enterprise IAM platforms and how they support scalable identity ecosystems.
• You naturally collaborate with Product, Business, and cross-functional partners, building strong relationships that drive outcomes.
• Some minimal annual travel required (for people manager roles only)

Travel:

• Required Training & Professional Development
  All newly hired people leaders with direct reports are required to complete a comprehensive leadership development program within their first year. This program includes both virtual and in-person training. The in-person sessions will take place at Symetra’s corporate headquarters in Bellevue, Washington. Symetra covers all travel and accommodation expenses.
