• Provide day-to-day legal advice on HIPAA Privacy, Security, and Breach Notification Rules, including advice on Business Associate Agreements, Data Processing Agreements and other documents supporting business needs. • Advise on the use, disclosure, and protection of PHI across diagnostics, laboratory operations, and commercial activities. • Advise on compliance with CCPA, GDPR, and emerging U.S. state privacy laws, including supporting projects and contracts involving consumer or non-HIPAA-regulated personal data. • Support privacy incident and breach assessments, response, and remediation. • Partner with Compliance, Information Security, IT, and Operations on HIPAA-related matters. • Serve as a solution-oriented legal partner to product, commercial, R&D, and operational teams. • Assist in managing matters as they arise in assigned business units, working closely with external counsel when necessary. • Collaborate with business units to identify and manage legal risks associated with day-to-day operations. • Translate privacy requirements into workable, business-aligned guidance. • Support contracts, initiatives, and projects involving healthcare data and patient information. • Educate internal stakeholders on HIPAA and healthcare privacy requirements in clear, accessible language. • Develop or contribute to training materials, guidance documents, and FAQs. • Demonstrate curiosity and willingness to learn about emerging privacy issues in diagnostics, digital health, and data-driven healthcare. • Support legal leadership on privacy topics beyond HIPAA as the business evolves. • Stay current on relevant regulatory developments impacting healthcare data. • Participate in cross-functional teams and projects to provide legal insights and support. • Assist in overseeing regulatory compliance initiatives. • Monitor important developments in applicable law in jurisdictions across the country.
