Job Summary: As a Bilingual Mental Health Patient Navigator, you will be responsible for facilitating communication between our mental health professionals and clients. Your ability to fluently communicate in both Spanish and English will play a crucial role in creating a welcoming and inclusive environment. Your daily tasks will include scheduling appointments, maintaining client records, responding to inquiries, and supporting administrative duties. You will interact daily with both patients and mental health providers. This is a fast growing and highly flexible startup with great potential for growth.
Job Requirements
- Responsibilities:
- Schedule and coordinate appointments for Spanish and English-speaking clients, ensuring accurate and timely communication.
- Explain Patient Financial Responsibility in a completely transparent and easy-to-understand fashion and collect deductibles and co-pays.
- Maintain thorough and up-to-date client records, adhering to confidentiality and privacy regulations.
- Respond to phone calls, emails, and other inquiries in both Spanish and English, providing accurate and helpful information.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as data entry and billing processes.
- Handle crisis situations calmly and professionally, following established protocols.
- Demonstrate empathy, respect, and cultural understanding to create a supportive environment.
- Uphold strict confidentiality and privacy guidelines when handling sensitive client information.
- Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred).
- Fluency in Spanish and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
- Must work in a HIPPA compliant environment.
- Previous experience in a receptionist or administrative role in a healthcare setting, preferably in a mental health.
- Familiarity with mental health terminology and practices is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
- Proficiency in computer systems and software (e.g., MS Office, Athena electronic medical records, etc.).
- Compassionate and empathetic nature, with the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
- Understanding of the importance of confidentiality and privacy in the mental health industry.
- Cultural sensitivity and ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Willingness to pitch in to address issues as they arise in a fast changing startup environment.
