Job Description

Description

Chevo is hiring a Power Platform Center of Excellence (CoE) Lead to join our expanding firm to serve as a Key Personnel on the DOI Office of Wildland Fire (OWF) FireNet Enterprise Business Services contract. The FireNet environment is expanding its Power Platform footprint and requires an experienced CoE leader to establish governance, engineer managed environments, implement ALM pipelines, and enable a growing maker community. This is a senior technical-leadership role requiring both hands-on Power Platform engineering and the organizational skills to drive CoE adoption across an interagency federal community.

Location: Remote (CONUS) | Occasional On-Site Travel Required

Clearance: Federal Public Trust (National Agency Check with Inquiries – NACI) Required

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain the CoE Charter and governance baseline, defining the mission, roles, decision rights, environment strategy, and DLP and connector policy framework for the FireNet Power Platform tenant. You will stand up and maintain managed environments, implementing a Dev/Test/Prod ALM pipeline using Azure DevOps with defined quality gates, approvals, and rollback procedures.
  • Remediate existing environment health issues, close out a documented remediation report, and publish reusable solution templates and reference components for the FireNet maker community.
  • Solely responsible for the evaluation and intake process for workloads migrating from AWS or on-premises systems into Power Platform or Azure PaaS, producing architecture dossiers that cover fit assessment, target architecture, identity and data boundaries, integration points, and cutover plans.
  • Monitor platform health and capacity across Power Apps, Power Pages, Dataverse, premium connectors, and Azure resources, producing monthly capacity reports and least-cost licensing recommendations for Government review and approval.
  • Lead maker enablement including onboarding processes, office hours, and training materials, with a target to onboard new makers within 5 business days.
  • Prepare CAB packets for all CoE-governed releases and coordinate with the Strategic Communications team on user-facing guidance and training artifacts.
  • Provide on-call coverage for Priority 1 CoE and platform incidents, with expectations to acknowledge within 30 minutes, triage within 1 hour, and restore or implement a workaround within 4 hours.
  • Coordinate closely with the Web and Digital Development team (Development Engineers) for implementation support, the Microsoft Cloud Security Architect for DLP guardrails, security labels, and Entra identity controls, and the Project Manager for CAB scheduling and governance cadence.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bring substantial, hands-on experience administering and engineering Microsoft Power Platform environments in an enterprise or federal government context, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, Power BI, and Microsoft Dataverse.
  • Deep familiarity with Power Platform governance, DLP policies, managed environments, and the Power Platform CoE Starter Kit is required.
  • Experience implementing solution-based ALM with Azure DevOps, including pipeline configuration for Dev/Test/Prod promotion with quality gates, is essential.
  • Experience evaluating and migrating workloads from AWS or on-premises infrastructure into Power Platform or Azure PaaS is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Entra ID, RBAC, and connector security within a zero-trust environment is expected.
  • Experience working within a federal FISMA or FedRAMP compliance environment is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications such as PL-600 (Power Platform Solution Architect), PL-400 (Power Platform Developer), PL-200 (Power Platform Functional Consultant), or AZ-305 (Azure Infrastructure Solutions) are highly desirable and may substitute for certain experience requirements consistent with the GSA MAS pricelist.

Salary Range: $135,000 - $170,000
