Job Description

• Engineering support for HVDC terrestrial and submarine cable systems and converter stations • Supporting HVDC cable routing and converter station feasibility studies • Providing technical support input during the project permitting phase • Preparation of conceptual level engineering documents • Working with Project Engineer and Project Manager on developing design schedules and budgets for electrical engineering work activities • Supporting clients with utility interface and technical coordination • Power system studies (load flow, short circuit, protective coordination, arc flash analysis) • PSCAD model development and analysis • Preparation of one line and three-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, BOMs, wire schedule, interconnection diagrams • Field experience including witnessing testing of HVDC equipment and systems • Developing construction and equipment specifications • Supporting projects during construction, start-up, and commissioning as needed • Grounding Analysis and Design • Reviewing engineering work performed by peers • Attending client meetings • Assisting in the promotion of AECOM's capabilities while maintaining existing client base • Providing specialized technical input to studies and design

Job Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 6 years of relevant HVAC experience
  • HVDC experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Leadership experience
  • Masters degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred)
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Electrical Engineering (preferred)
  • 10+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education (preferred)
  • Experience with FACTS Power systems analysis software (preferred)
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards (NEC, NESC, IEEE)
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Experience on full EPC, Design/Build projects from start to finish (preferred)
  • Plant Startup and Commissioning Field Experience (preferred)
  • Owner’s Engineering experience (preferred)
  • Experience working with remote team (preferred)
