About the Role:
The Exercise Specialist supports CrowdStrike’s Business Resilience (BR) department within the Resilience Organization. This role is focused on the design, coordination, facilitation, and evaluation of traditional business continuity and crisis response exercises. The Exercise Specialist partners closely with business, crisis, and product teams to validate preparedness, identify gaps, and drive continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do:
Primary Responsibilities:
Plan, design, and deliver business continuity and crisis response exercises in consultation with the Business Resilience management team.
Independently manage and execute a defined subset of assigned exercises, owning the end-to-end lifecycle from planning through facilitation, evaluation, and corrective action tracking.
Design and facilitate exercises to validate plans, procedures, decision-making, and escalation processes.
Develop realistic, risk-aligned exercise scenarios appropriate to organizational maturity and resilience objectives.
Ensure exercise scenarios demonstrate increasing complexity and maturity over time.
Execute multiple exercises in parallel with minimal oversight while maintaining consistency and quality.
Capture observations and lessons learned and develop after-action reports (AARs).
Track corrective actions and partner with stakeholders to drive remediation and continuous improvement.
Support planning and conduct of disaster recovery tests and exercises, including test reporting and corrective action identification.
Secondary Responsibilities:
Support incident team activations
Support continuous improvement of the company’s resilience posture
Partner closely with other teams in support of risk/resilience planning, including Information Security, Governance/Risk/Compliance, Enterprise Risk Management
What You'll Need:
5+ years of experience independently owning and delivering business continuity, crisis response, and cyber security exercises
Demonstrated ability to scale an exercise program, including repeatable processes, templates, and metrics.
Proven track record of operating with autonomy while partnering effectively with cross-functional stakeholders;
Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills with the ability to communicate concepts to technical as well as non-technical audiences
Effective written and oral communication skills, including experience developing and delivering briefings to top management
Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and project management skills
Experience with supporting crisis management events (public or private sector)
Ability to work an on call schedule including nights and weekends during crisis events
Bachelor’s degree in Risk/Resilience or related fields, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience
Masters degree in risk/resilience discipline may be substituted for equivalent years of experience
Bonus Points
Relevant certification in one or more business continuity, risk, or resilience disciplines (e.g., ABCP, CBCP, CBCI, MBCI, BCCE, CISSP)
Experience with supporting crisis management events (public or private sector)
Technology sector experience, particularly Cloud native
Experience with data analytics tools (e.g., Tableau) and Business Continuity software
Experience with Disaster Recovery testing / Awareness of chaos engineering testing

CrowdStrike, Inc. is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Placement within the pay range is dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications, job level, supervisory status, and location. CrowdStrike Canada ULC is committed to equal pay for equal work in its compensation practices. The base salary range for this position in Canada is $95,000 - $125,000 CAD per year + variable/incentive compensation + equity + benefits.
