Features Writer, Tulsa

The Tulsa World, a Lee Enterprises company, seeks a full-time, digitally savvy features writer to create narrative-driven stories — lifestyles, culture, profiles, human interest — in Tulsa and surrounding areas in northeastern Oklahoma. An understanding of digital storytelling, audience engagement, content management systems (CMS), social media and SEO content writing is necessary.

Among key responsibilities for the position:

• Build trusted relationships with sources and communities.
• Use digital trends, interviews, data, social media and original research to create daily cross-platform news content Green Country audiences care about (good news, food, interesting people).
• Take photos and video for print and web.
• Work with colleagues on packages (stories, photos, video, social media, digital production).
• Think creatively to find exceptional stories in everyday life.
• Manage time to juggle responsibilities.
• Write clean, clear and accurate copy.

This Tulsa-based journalist position is hybrid and includes some night, weekend and holiday work, but we work with our reporters to make their schedules as flexible as possible.
