Location:           REMOTE

Pay:                   $125,600 to $188,400 / year depending on experience and qualifications

Schedule:          Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm

 

Employment Logistics:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Manager of Network Operations that is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and support of the organization's network infrastructure. This role ensures network reliability, performance, and security while leading a team of network engineers and support staff. The Manager of Network Operations works closely with other departments within OnTrac, external vendors, and service providers to determine necessary technology advances/updates, coordinate and schedule customer impacting events and educate employees on the use of newly introduced software and hardware.

The Must-Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s preferred) and / or 5+ years of experience in network operations or infrastructure management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of enterprise applications such as Active Directory, MS O365, Exchange, SCCM, VMware, VSphere and Horizon View, etc.
  • Strong understanding of SAN and other storage technologies.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of the configuration and optimization of network equipment including firewalls, routers, switches, gateways, servers, telephones and other related equipment.
  • Strong understanding of the fundamentals in networking and data communications.
  • Direct experience with Cisco switches and routers.
  • Will require becoming proficient in OnTrac software and applications.
  • Strong understanding of LAN/WAN, wireless network protocols (e.g., 802.11 standards, Wi-Fi 6), routing, switching, and firewalls.
  • Experience with wireless site surveys, coverage analysis, and signal optimization.
  • Familiarity with wireless security protocols (WPA3, WIPS, 802.1X) and best practices.
  • Proficiency with network monitoring and management tools for both wired and wireless environments (e.g., SolarWinds, NetFlow, Wireshark, Ekahau).
  • Knowledge of cloud networking and wireless solutions in AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Windows applications: Word and Excel.

 

Your Mission in Motion:

  • Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise and review the work of assigned staff performing a variety of work activities within the systems and network administration sections of the OnTrac IT Department.
  • Provide technical leadership and strategic technology implementation planning for OnTrac.
  • Consult with management regarding systems and service delivery needs.
  • Participate in the configuration and/or development of new and existing services and/or, applications as required.
  • Coordinate and evaluate complex operations and activities; recommend and implement improvements and modifications; prepare various reports on operations and activities for management.
  • Participate in the selection of staff; provide, recommend or coordinate staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies; assist in implementing procedures.
  • Provide expert consultation to assist staff in completion of work and associated activities as needed; monitor activities and progress; coordinate completion of scheduled activities and projects; and assist team in achieving customer service and quality standards within assigned functional area.
