Job Description

• Handle a caseload of workers' compensation defense cases for various clients with a very active support staff (2:1 assignment ratio) • Manage a caseload of workers' compensation defense cases with dedicated support staff. • Conduct legal research and develop defense strategies. • Represent employers, insurers, and third-party administrators in hearings, trials, and appeals. • Draft pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements. • Assess claims, advise clients on exposure and liability, and negotiate settlements. • Ensure compliance with workers' compensation laws and stay updated on legal changes. • Participate in mediation and dispute resolution. • Collaborate with attorneys and support staff while maintaining strong client relationships.

Job Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of California Worker's Compensation law
  • 2 - 10 years of experience in workers' compensation defense litigation
  • Ability to work independently and remotely
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Admission in good standing to the State Bar of California
  • Experience taking an applicant's deposition and taking/defending a doctor’s deposition
  • Experience appearing for all WC hearings (status conference, priority conference, MSC, and lien conference).
