• Financial Close & Reporting: Own the entire monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of GAAP-compliant financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow). • Technical Accounting & Compliance (Value-Based Care): Serve as the in-house expert on technical accounting matters, particularly revenue recognition (ASC 606) for shared savings/risk contracts, and performance-based incentive payments typical in the value-based healthcare space. • Cost Accounting & Unit Economics: Oversee the development and maintenance of robust cost accounting methodologies, ensuring accurate calculation of Per Member Per Month (PMPM) costs, Contribution Margins, and other critical unit economics metrics used for market performance analysis. • Audit & Tax Management: Manage all aspects of the annual external financial audit, statutory audits, and tax compliance (including working with external tax partners). Ensure proper internal controls (SOX-like compliance) are designed, documented, and operating effectively. • System and Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems, including optimizing the General Ledger (GL) structure. • Balance Sheet Management: Own the integrity of the Balance Sheet, including managing cash flow, overseeing fixed assets (including software capitalization under ASC 350-40), and ensuring accurate accruals and reserves. • Team Leadership: Build a small and effective corporate accounting team, setting priorities, fostering professional development, and ensuring alignment with the company's financial goals.
