Job Description

• Serve as our most senior technical expert, working across teams to provide technical guidance, direction, and mentorship to engineers. • Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering leaders across AI and Data Platforms to build and execute customer-facing roadmaps with a strong, scalable technical foundation. • Introduce outside experience and perspectives in modern data architecture and emerging technologies to drive the adoption of organization-wide best practices and design patterns. • Architect and lead solutions for complex, high-scale problems. • Engage in hands-on development of critical and/or complex portions of the solutions you architect, ensuring quality and alignment with the vision. • Share your passion for technical topics and continuous learning with your teams and peers. • Actively support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives at Invoca. • Report to the Sr Director of Architecture, who reports to the CTO.

Job Requirements

15+ years of professional software development experience, ideally within a high-growth SaaS environment, with a significant focus on data and AI/ML systems.
Proven experience with core technologies, including or highly similar to:
Programming languages: Ruby, Python, Javascript.
Data/Stream Processing: MySQL, Kafka, and ETL tools.
Infrastructure as Code & Cloud: Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Data Lakehouses: Experience with platforms such as DataBricks or Snowflake.
Advanced knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming, Contract-Driven Development, Distributed Systems, and Data Modeling.
A systematic problem-solver with exceptional communication skills, a deep sense of ownership, and a track record of driving complex projects to completion.
Extensive experience leading technical projects, maintaining features in production with continuous deployment, and driving prioritization with a strong customer-focused mindset.
Experience in mentoring and leveling up software engineers.
A strong desire to create elegant, scalable, and maintainable services and tools.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent practical experience required.
