Job Description

• Design, build and review code for our fraud and abuse backend platform • Iterate on features using Scala (no prior experience required) and technologies within GCP • Ship your first code in days, iterating on features in an agile manner • Operate autonomously but work closely with engineers and PMs to ensure high alignment • Collaborate cross-functionally with the product team and other Hopper teams • We operate with few meetings and emphasize strong alignment and asynchronous decision making

Job Requirements

4+ years of experience building scalable backend systems
A strong understanding of distributed systems and how architectural decisions affect performance and maintainability
The ability to work with minimal guidance, be proactive and to handle uncertainty, ambiguity and the challenge of quickly evolving goals
Excelled in cross-functional teams, working fluidly with Product Managers, Data Scientists, Frontend Engineers, and other highly skilled specialists
Prior experience in the payments and fraud space a plus
