Job Description

• Coordinate the strengthening and expansion of the coalition. • Amplify UHLA’s communications efforts. • Advance external strategy. • Re-engage inactive coalition members in coordination with the Organizing & Events committee chair. • Provide staff support to UHLA committees. • Provide staff support to coalition convenings, internal strategy sessions. • Coordinate the collection of human impact stories for ULA programs. • Coordinate the collection of quantitative data/outcomes from ULA programs. • Support reporter cultivation strategy, in coordination with the Communications Lead. • Support the creation and administration of social media content and channels. • Support the Organizing & Events committee with logistics for events and press outreach. • Support the execution of the coalition external strategy. • Establish and maintain strategic relationships. • Support the establishment of a coalition-wide canvassing strategy. • Other duties as directed.

Job Requirements

  • Policy advocacy experience, ideally in Los Angeles.
  • Experience leading and managing coalition campaigns.
  • Experience with organizing and/or electoral field campaigns.
  • Understanding of communications and ability to coordinate communications staff within coalition member organizations and external consultants.
  • Commitment to the goals of ULA.
  • Commitment to racial and economic justice.
  • Commitment to strengthening social justice movements and especially housing justice.
  • Strong communicator and ability to understand and work with a wide range of people.
  • Detail-oriented, accurate, and thorough.
  • Integrity and mature judgment.
