Job Description

• Analyzes blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare ACCA-based heat load calculations and designs for new residential construction homes • Reviews data to determine material and labor requirements, and prepares itemized lists • Computes cost factors and prepares estimates used for management purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work, preparing bids, selecting vendors or subcontractors, and determining cost effectiveness • Conducts special studies to increase cost-effectiveness of projects • Consults with clients, vendors, and Department Managers to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues • Cooperates with the Service and IAQ Departments on projects as assigned by the Installation Manager

Job Requirements

B.S. in Engineering preferred but not mandatory
Minimum of two years’ experience as an HVAC designer
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
Excellent written communication skills and the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers
Knowledge and experience with geometry and trigonometry, and the ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentage ratios, and proportions to practical situations
Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new software and technology, with proficiency in Microsoft Office, Wrightsoft, & AutoCAD used in the design process.
