Job Description

• Plan, direct, and manage functions within the Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) Department • Manage and deliver high quality CDI programs • Responsible for design, collection, and reporting of data to support the System CDI Program • Provide guidance on coding and DRG assignment • Oversee education and quarterly CDI audits • Develop audit tools and quality standards • Manage Clinical Documentation Improvement Program for optimal effectiveness • Present reports to physician score card • Ensure compliance with regulations • Conduct performance reviews and manage departmental statistics

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management or Nursing Services or Associate Degree in Health Information Technology
  • One of the following Certified Credentials within one (1) year of hire: CDIP or CCDS
  • Two (2) years’ experience in clinical documentation improvement
  • Two (2) years supervisory experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of provider healthcare compliance, revenue cycle operations, and auditing techniques
  • Ability to mentor, educate and train others
  • Proficient in office software programs
