Job Description

• Build one of Samsara’s most ambitious mobile experiences for drivers; support daily driver workflows and safety • Develop and maintain high-performance mobile applications for iOS and Android, delivering complex features at enterprise scale • Design and implement polished, user-friendly UI components with focus on accessibility and cross-platform consistency • Profile and optimize application performance and responsiveness; identify bottlenecks and improve memory usage • Integrate with native iOS/Android modules and APIs via bridging to unlock platform-specific functionality • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to plan and build new mobile features; ensure code quality via peer reviews and testing • Champion and embed Samsara’s cultural principles across the team • Work under challenging conditions like poor connectivity, dynamic schedules, and changing routes; occasional travel (~10%)

Job Requirements

6+ years of software development experience
4+ years of hands-on mobile app development experience
Strong track record of performance tuning in mobile apps, including use of profiling tools and techniques
Hands-on experience ensuring mobile app accessibility compliance
Solid testing and debugging skills in a mobile context; experience writing unit and integration tests and using CI pipelines
Proven experience creating native modules with Objective-C/Swift and Java/Kotlin
Familiarity with geospatial or mapping technologies such as Mapbox or Google Maps SDK
Domain experience in logistics, fleet management, or industrial IoT (preferred)
Background in native mobile development (Swift/Objective-C and Kotlin/Java)
Reside in the United States; travel up to 10% and proximity to an international airport; relocation assistance not provided
