Job Description

• Lead a team of 5-8 engineers, managing all aspects of people management including hiring, growth, compensation, and performance management • Be directly responsible for the results your team delivers • Own the definition and execution of the team’s 12-month roadmap • Drive improvements to processes and tools, especially those that allow confident changes to high-risk parts of the codebase • Use data to inform decisions and measure the impact of work the team ships • Guide the team through making complex changes that balance performance against other requirements • Handle (or lead the effort to handle) time-sensitive customer escalations • Collaborate with stakeholders and engineering teams across the company to jointly work on large initiatives • Work with product managers, program managers, and other teams to specify, prioritize and deliver new features • Ensure high quality and velocity in the design and implementation of new functionality in MongoDB server

Job Requirements

  • You have 2 or more years of experience managing a team of software engineers
  • You have strong technical judgment that you use to effectively guide engineering decisions
  • You have first-hand experience developing complex systems in C++ (like databases, distributed systems, or high-performance applications)
  • You enjoy coaching, career development, and creating growth opportunities to help your team reach their full potential
