Job Description

• Perform intermediate to advanced US international tax functions related to tax specifications and prepare and execute tax returns • Assign work, provide guidance, supervise lower-level associates, and develop engagement team • Utilize research skills, apply tax foundational knowledge, and recognize and communicate potential tax risks • Prepare tax accrual workpapers and work with tax software applications to complete tax returns for review • Review US income tax treaties and US income tax positions for a variety of clients • Participate in tax planning and support consulting projects; learn and grasp US international tax concepts • Supervise engagement project management, billing, ensure QC (technical) standards • Maintain client communications, meet deadlines, and ensure quality client deliverables • Provide timely performance feedback to lower-level associates and ensure workpapers are complete and consistent

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 2, but typically 3+ years of experience in public accounting, corporate accounting and/or tax accounting
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting OR Bachelor's degree plus requisite accounting coursework
  • CPA preferred; if not a CPA, must meet educational requirements and actively sitting for the CPA exam as outlined by the Board of Accountancy in the state of your preferred office location
  • Experience with US international taxation, for both individual and corporate as well as flow through clients
  • Knowledge of IRS forms 5471, 8865, 8858, 1042, W-8s, 8990, 8991, 8992, and 8993
  • Prior basic supervisory experience preferred
  • Prior experience preparing and reviewing US international tax elements of income tax returns preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook), and Adobe Acrobat
  • Experience with tax research databases such as BNA and RIA
  • Proficient in tax compliance process software including GoFileRoom, GoSystemRS, CCH Axcess, Caseware, BNA Depreciation Software, or comparable programs
  • Knowledge of CCH ProSystems is a plus
  • Bilingual a plus
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to act in a responsive manner to client inquiries and requests and handle numerous projects concurrently
