Job Description
• Provide Translation services for individuals with a language barrier across Education, legal, Medical, Environmental, and Social Services
• Accurately translate lectures, conversations, meetings, medical, and legal content
• Remain HIPAA compliant when interpreting or translating in healthcare settings
• Abide by client policies and American Translators Association Code of Ethics
• Render complete and accurate translations without altering, omitting, or adding content
• Be sensitive to cultural nuances of source and target languages
• Be on-call and respond to potential jobs within 48 hours
• Work remotely and maintain a professional remote workspace
• Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent in years of experience
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience
- Certified Translation Professional
- Translation Certifications
- Certifications from a previous agency or Accreditation from a translation program
- Must be fluent in English
- Must be fluent in Japanese
- Must be able to pass a background check
- The ability to facilitate translation with discretion and impartiality
- Proficiency in written communication
- A wide breadth of knowledge in a variety of topics
- Cultural awareness when conducting translations within different regions
- Must possess problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft and Adobe toolsets, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc.
- Highly motivated with the ability to handle and manage multiple tasks at any one time
- Must be a Self-starter, that can work independently and as part of a team
- For Medical Translation services: must have medical interpreter certificate from either the Certification Commission of Healthcare Interpreters or the National Certification for Medical Interpreters
- 2 years of Legal translation experience (preferred)
- 2 years of Medical translation experience (preferred)
- American Translators Association Certification (preferred)
- Court certified translator certificate (preferred)
