Job Description

• Build conversion-optimized, high-performance law firm websites using our proprietary Gutenberg-based WordPress theme. • Manage 2-4 concurrent website projects from initial build through post-launch edits. • Develop custom templates and functionality that work seamlessly within our theme environment while meeting unique client requirements. • Transform complex Figma designs into pixel-perfect, responsive WordPress experiences that balance visual impact with performance and usability. • Handle client request tickets alongside project work, troubleshooting issues and implementing solutions efficiently. • Execute edits and refinements after development completion and post-launch to ensure client satisfaction and site performance. • Partner with Design, Project Management, Account Management, SEO, and Social teams to ensure all technical deliverables align with client expectations, campaign goals, and performance insights. • Collaborate with other developers to ensure code quality, processes, and standards are consistent and optimized across the team. • Take full ownership of technical deliverables while proactively communicating status updates and flagging potential workflow issues. • Establish and maintain rigorous QA processes and testing protocols to ensure every site launch meets our high standards for accessibility, performance, and security. • Proactively identify inefficiencies in development workflows and propose actionable solutions that increase team efficiency and output quality. • Contribute to elevating our proprietary theme library by building reusable components, optimizing existing functionality, and implementing new features. • Coach and mentor junior developers through code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing to accelerate their growth and elevate team capabilities. • Stay current with WordPress updates, modern development practices, and emerging technologies to continually push technical innovation while maintaining stability. • Champion and enforce coding standards, documentation practices, and development methodologies across the team.

Job Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in WordPress development and front-end development (agency experience preferred).
  • Languages (Expert-Level Proficiency Required):
  • PHP (extremely high proficiency)
  • CSS (extremely high proficiency)
  • HTML (extremely high proficiency)
  • Bootstrap (extremely high proficiency)
  • JavaScript (high proficiency)
  • jQuery (high proficiency)
  • Expert-level understanding of core WordPress concepts including:
  • The WordPress post loop and custom query structures
  • Hooks, filters, and actions system
  • Shortcodes: usage, building, and modification
  • Expert knowledge of WordPress PHP structure and theme file architecture
  • Ability to make theme modifications without causing unintended repercussions
  • Gutenberg editor and block development
  • WordPress database system with comfort navigating and troubleshooting when needed
  • Commonly Used WordPress Plugins:
  • Nitropack (performance optimization)
  • Gravity Forms (and related add-ons)
  • Advanced Custom Fields (ACF)
  • Yoast SEO
  • WP Engine Hosting (or Similar Systems):
  • Very high level of comfort using WP Engine hosting platform, including:
  • Creating and maintaining backups/restores
  • Communicating with hosting support when needed
  • Viewing and interpreting error logs for debugging
  • Connecting and managing domains
  • Advanced Custom Fields:
  • Expert-level implementation of ACF fields and field groups
  • Build custom Gutenberg blocks integrated with ACF
  • Create flexible, reusable content structures for complex layouts
  • Gravity Forms:
  • Advanced form development including custom validation and conditional logic
  • Experience with GF add-ons, hooks, and custom integrations
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex form issues and implement custom solutions
  • Custom Development & Animation:
  • Build custom animations and interactive elements using CSS, JavaScript, and modern libraries
  • Implement complex, pixel-perfect designs with custom functionality within our theme environment
  • Create reusable components and templates that scale across projects
  • Experience with performance optimization for animations and interactions
  • Design Implementation:
  • Expert-level translation of complex Figma designs into production code
  • Deep understanding of responsive design, mobile-first development, and progressive enhancement
  • Mastery of cross-browser compatibility and accessibility standards (WCAG compliance)
  • Tools & Software:
  • Comfortable using digital communication tools (Slack) on a daily basis
  • Familiar with Google suite of tools: Google Docs, Sheets, Google Search Console, etc.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly:
  • Dreamweaver
  • Photoshop
  • Illustrator
  • Media Encoder
  • Project Management & Collaboration:
  • Proficient with project management and collaboration tools:
  • ClickUp (for work assignment and tracking)
  • Slack and Zoom (for communication)
  • Screen recording programs (for documentation and communication)
  • Highly communicative with clear written and verbal updates
  • Proactively asks questions early to avoid rework later
  • Takes full ownership of work with strong initiative and accountability
  • Manages multiple projects and deadlines independently
  • Detail-oriented with high standards for code quality and accuracy
