Job Description

• Align payroll calculations with accounting, tax, and compliance requirements • Process and validate structured input data (salary, bonuses, leave) to ensure accurate payroll runs • Continually inspect and analyse payroll data, flagging and escalating any inconsistencies. • Define and document operational requirements for technical implementation • Map product features to payroll workflows, ensuring seamless integration • Translate manual payroll logic into structured rules that can be automated • Perform user testing of new features to ensure operational edge cases are covered • Support the documentation and improvement of payroll workflows and edge cases • Identify repetitive tasks that could be standardised or automated • Contribute to the creation of scalable logic and templates for multi-country payroll • Use Alteryx to automate payroll workflows, reduce manual work, and improve data accuracy • Communicate clearly and professionally with internal stakeholders (Finance, Product, Engineering, Ops) • Help track open items, missing data, or blockers across cross-functional teams • Take ownership of smaller deliverables and follow up with the right people to resolve issues • Be proactive, organised, and eager to contribute to a high-performing, globally distributed team

Job Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or data roles, with a focus on automating manual processes
  • Hands-on experience with data transformation tools like Alteryx or similar automation platforms
  • Familiarity with payroll systems and how payroll intersects with accounting, tax, and compliance
  • Strong understanding of core financial and payroll concepts (e.g. gross vs. net, statutory deductions, benefits)
  • Experience working in fast-paced, innovative environments
  • Proficiency in SQL, Looker, or other BI tools
  • Experience with process mapping and workflow optimization
  • Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail
  • Educational background in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Data (or equivalent practical experience)
  • Strong proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets; familiarity with structured data is a plus
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and follow through on deadlines.
