Onera is hiring a hands on Cloud Systems Administrator to join our USA team on a unique and ambitious mission to better healthcare. You will be ensuring the availability, performance, and security of our US based cloud environments, healthcare applications as well as IT systems, supporting the organisations' business and technical requirements. You will join a multi - disciplinary energetic, young, and internationally minded scale-up team and work closely with peer customer support specialists, clinical specialists, software engineers, data and algorithm experts. You will be key to the success of Onera’s next generation sleep diagnostic service. We offer a great opportunity for professional growth in an ambitious and fast-growing scale-up. What you will do:
Operate our cloud based application used by (Healthcare Provider) customers:
- Operate cloud based product
- Operate and maintain AWS infrastructure supporting our AWS-based platform used by healthcare providers
- Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of our production environments
- Deployment Support: Support the EU based engineering team in deploying code to US production environments.
- Inform Product Development: Provide input and requirements to development team on backup, disaster recovery security, monitoring, operations, release and deployment best practices.
- Incident Response: Participate in incident response and root cause analysis for system outages. Act as the primary technical point of contact for US-based infrastructure alerts and security incidents.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed system documentation and operational runbooks and playbooks. Contribute to definition of procedures, policies and work instructions.
- Application technical support: Investigate and troubleshoot cloud based application issues and ensuring timely resolution for customers .
- Compliance Certification: Help define and shape the procedures, policies and work instructions required for achieving SOC2 and FedRamp certifications. Lead the technical preparation and evidence collection for first time and annual SOC2 audits and FedRAMP authorization packages.
- Compliance Maintenance: Ensure the US cloud infrastructure remains in a "continuously compliant" state, managing the automated patching and configuration hardening required for HIPAA, SOC2, and FedRAMP.
Manage general IT systems used by our US based team:
- Systems Access Management: Manage IT systems and providing/revoking access to employees (e.g., EntraID).
- Device & Asset Management: Procure, configure, and manage all US-based company hardware, including laptops and mobile devices, using the Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution of Microsoft Intune.
- Backup & Disaster Recovery: Implement and regularly test data backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity and data integrity in case of a system failure or cyberattack.
- System Monitoring: Monitor systems performance, uptime and security applying patches, updates and security fixes when needed.
- User & Helpdesk Support: Act as the first line of support for all US employees, resolving issues with hardware (laptops, printers, mobile devices), software (Microsoft 365, Office365, specialised applications), and network connectivity. Register, monitor, and resolve tickets in Jira Service Management.
- Documentation: Meticulously document IT procedures and keep IT records in line with our procedures. Create and update user guides and training materials.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or a related field
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS SysOps Administrator Certification, AWS Security certification, ITIL ) are a plus.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in cloud and IT system management, with at least 3 years in a healthcare setting.
- You have a good understanding and know-how of AWS services (e.g. Lambda, API Gateway, IoT Core, DynamoDB, S3, Batch, EC2, SageMaker, etc) having worked with at least a subset of these
- You have hands on experience using AWS security, compliance and monitoring services (AWS WAF, Config, GuardDuty, CloudWatch, Cloud Trail)
- Proficiency with server administration, virtualisation technologies, and IT security
- Proven experience working within HIPAA, SOC2 and HITECH frameworks.
- Deep familiarity with NIST 800-53 (FedRAMP) and Trust Services Criteria (SOC2).
- Hands-on experience maintaining systems under SOC2 Type II and FedRAMP (NIST 800-53) frameworks.
- Proficiency in Linux/Windows Admin, Docker, and Scripting (Python/Bash/Typescript)
- Excellent problem-solving skills , communication and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken)
- May require occasional evening or weekend work for system maintenance or emergency support.
