STEM Instructor position tailored to execute the MVP360 Leadership First Academy STEM Summer Camps. This role supports delivering high-quality, hands-on STEM programming for youth ages 9–18 (with sessions often split for 9–12 and 13–18), groups of up to 30 participants, over 5 consecutive days per camp, while integrating MVP360's Leadership First philosophy.

Location: Various locations worldwide (travel required; may include back-to-back or camps at different locations)
Position Type: Contract/Seasonal (camp-based, typically Monday–Friday, business hours; 3-hour sessions per age group, with setup/breakdown time)
Compensation: Competitive per-camp rate. NOTE: Flights, Travel, Lodging and related expenses covered.
Job Summary MVP360 is seeking enthusiastic, experienced STEM Instructors to lead engaging, inquiry-based STEM camps for military-connected youth ages 9–18. Instructors will deliver a comprehensive 5-day curriculum focused on hands-on experiments and projects across STEM disciplines (scientific method, electricity/circuits, alternative energy, astronomy/rocketry, geology/environmental science, chemistry, physics, biology, engineering, and robotics).
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver daily STEM activities following the provided 5-day curriculum structure, including:
- Phase 1: Skills assessments and group formation.
- Phase 2: Introduction to core STEM concepts and principles.
- Phase 3: Team-based projects and foundational experiments.
- Phase 4: Hands-on reinforcement through challenges and real-world applications.
- Phase 5: Graduation showcase with team presentations, critical thinking under pressure, and awards.
- Facilitate hands-on experiments and projects in areas such as circuit building, solar/wind energy models, rocket launches, chemical reactions, microscope observations, Rube Goldberg machines, robotics programming, and environmental modeling.
- Incorporate Leadership First elements daily: promote teamwork, confidence, effort, character, self-awareness, time/stress management, problem-solving, and conflict resolution during activities and dedicated reflection/teaching moments.
- Provide constant supervision, safety monitoring, and age-appropriate adaptations (e.g., morning sessions for ages ≤12, afternoon for 13–18).
- Set up and break down equipment daily (arrive 30 minutes early, stay after to clean up); manage STEM kits, tools, and materials.
- Adapt programming flexibly for indoor/outdoor settings, varying skill levels, group sizes, and location needs; ensure inclusivity, engagement, and full participation through team-building and positive reinforcement.
- Conduct pre-camp staff training (at least 2 hours) on program delivery, child maltreatment prevention, concussion awareness, developmentally appropriate guidance, and mandatory reporting.
- Comply with all professional standards: neat appearance (MVP360 branded shirts), appropriate attire (no open-toed shoes or sleeveless shirts), positive behavior/decorum.
- Coordinate logistics with location POC (e.g., access passes, EAL); adhere to travel itineraries and security protocols.
- Support camp outcomes: build interest in STEM careers/recreation, enhance teamwork/communication/problem-solving, and leave lasting leadership/life skills.
- Assist with equipment inventory
Job Requirements
- Qualifications & Requirements Required:
- At least 3 years of experience instructing or mentoring youth in STEM-related programs (camps, after-school, classrooms, or similar).
- Demonstrated expertise in multiple STEM disciplines (e.g., physics, chemistry, biology, engineering, robotics, astronomy, environmental science).
- Experience working with youth ages 9–18 in group settings
- Strong classroom/group management skills; ability to maintain safety, engagement, and positive behavior.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills; energetic, positive, flexible, and patient.
- Commitment to youth development, including integrating character/leadership education.
- Minimum age 18; must pass required background checks: Child Abuse History Clearance, State Police Criminal History, FBI Criminal History Clearance (plus any additional DoD/state requirements).
- Ability to travel (domestic/international) and work consecutive or simultaneous camps with reasonable notice.
- Valid driver's license (Passport applicable for travel).
- Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a STEM field (science, technology, engineering, mathematics), education, or related area.
- Certification/training in youth instruction, STEM education models, first aid/CPR/AED, concussion awareness, or child maltreatment prevention/reporting.
- Prior experience with hands-on kits (robotics, circuits, rocketry, microscopes, etc.) and inquiry-based/project-based learning.
- Physical & Other Requirements
- Ability to lift/carry equipment (up to 30–50 lbs), set up/break down materials, and actively participate in activities (indoor/outdoor).
- Comfortable working in varying conditions (e.g., heat, outdoor settings).
- Availability for full camp weeks (typically 5 days, with potential multi-week deployments).
