- The Senior Accountant role is part of MetLife's Group Benefits Finance team, which sits within the broader Finance organization and plays a critical role in supporting the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting for the Group Benefits business. This team is responsible for ensuring compliance with GAAP, maintaining reliable accounting records, and supporting key financial processes that enable effective decision-making across the organization.
- The Senior Accountant will assist in the preparation of financial statements and support the month-end close process, including expense analysis and accruals. Responsibilities include preparing detailed expense schedules, recording payroll entries and related accruals, and ensuring accurate calculation of monthly commissions. The role will also manage monthly allocations, reconcile corporate credit card expenses, and record bank activity to the general ledger. Additionally, the Senior Accountant will provide documentation and analysis for internal and external audits and perform other duties as needed to maintain compliance and operational excellence.
