• Lead Platform Engineering Initiatives: Own the technical roadmap and execution for Core Platform services which are the foundations for the business application verticals, and enabling them at scale. • Build and Grow High-Performing Teams: Manage, mentor, and develop a team of backend engineers; conduct 1:1s, performance reviews, career development conversations, and hiring • Drive Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product engineering teams to understand their needs and evolve the platform to serve them better; act as an internal consultant and evangelist for platform adoption • Architect Scalable Platform Solutions: Own the design and implementation middleware and services that support multiple applications; ensure platform components are composable, flexible, secure-by-default, and self-service. Participate in architecture reviews, write RFCs, and drive technical decision-making; stay hands-on with code reviews and technical guidance when needed • Champion Engineering Excellence: Establish best practices for platform development including API design, versioning, backward compatibility, observability, and documentation; reduce cognitive load for platform consumers. • Balance Technical Debt and Innovation: Make strategic tradeoffs between feature velocity, technical debt, and platform evolution; use data and ROI frameworks (RICE, etc.) to prioritize initiatives • Improve Developer Experience: Measure and optimize platform adoption, API usability, and developer productivity; build tools and documentation that enable self-service • Navigate Healthcare Complexity: Understand the unique constraints of healthcare systems including compliance, data security, multi-tenancy, and audit requirements; ensure platform solutions meet healthcare standards • Own Operational Excellence: Ensure platform services meet SLAs for availability, performance, and reliability; Establish monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes
