Job Description
• Manage the end-to-end IT procurement process, including identifying sourcing needs, gathering requirements, conducting market research, and vendor selection.
• Evaluate vendor proposals, negotiate contracts, and ensure favorable terms and pricing to achieve cost-effective procurement outcomes.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including IT teams and business units, to understand technology requirements and develop procurement strategies.
• Conduct supplier evaluations and maintain vendor relationships, including performance monitoring, issue resolution, and periodic reviews.
• Track and analyze procurement data, such as spend, savings, and supplier performance, to identify trends and provide insights for process improvement.
• Support the development and implementation of procurement policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance operational efficiency and compliance.
• Assist in the management of purchase orders, including verification, approval, and documentation.
• Stay updated on market trends, emerging technologies, and changes in vendor landscapes to inform procurement decision-making and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of procurement-related financial data.
• Provide support and guidance to internal stakeholders on procurement processes, policies, and compliance requirements.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
- In lieu of bachelor's degree, 2 - 4 years of proven experience in IT procurement, strategic sourcing, or related roles.
- Healthcare or higher-education experience a plus (depending upon assignment).
- Professional certifications through IAITAM, IBSMA, CSCP, or CPIM a plus.
- Solid understanding of procurement principles, best practices, and industry standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with vendors and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in procurement tools and systems, such as e-sourcing platforms and contract management software.
- Familiarity with IT infrastructure, hardware and software licensing models, and emerging technologies.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
