Job Description

• Authoring two twice-weekly Axios newsletters with potential to increase cadence that feature insights and scoops that matter most to the hyper-local audience • A command of the local market along with the sourcing necessary to illuminate busy readers about the community where they live • Helping build Axios Local and shape how the product evolves • Ability to create stories across multiple platforms, including newsletter, web and social media.

Job Requirements

Experience covering news and a deep understanding of Broward County
Excellent sources and ability to create new ones
Strong reporting skills and comfort working independently and on deadline
Ability to decipher data, break news and create conceptual scoops
Background in understanding local and national news coverage more broadly
A belief in and dedication to writing in Smart Brevity.
