Job Description

Join PAW Health Network as a Veterinary Telemedicine Specialist and be part of a revolutionary approach to patient care! In this role, you will provide expert veterinary care through virtual consultations, offering advice, diagnosis, and treatment plans for pets via video, phone, and written communication. Conduct remote consultations with pet owners, offering professional advice, diagnosis, and treatment plans based on medical history and symptoms. Provide guidance on pet health topics including nutrition, preventive care, and minor medical issues. Collaborate with veterinary technicians to review patient history and assist in preparing recommendations for telemedicine consultations. Issue prescriptions for medications when necessary, ensuring compliance with telemedicine and state regulations. Document consultation details accurately in the system, maintaining clear, thorough medical records. Respond to follow-up inquiries from pet owners, offering clarification or adjustments to treatment plans as needed. Ensure that all telehealth services are delivered in accordance with PAW Health Network’s policies, procedures, and applicable veterinary regulations.

Job Requirements

  • DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) or equivalent degree from an accredited veterinary school.
  • Active veterinary license in at least one U.S. state (additional state licenses a plus).
  • Experience in telemedicine or a willingness to adapt to virtual care practices.
  • 2+ years of veterinary experience (clinical experience required).
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain medical concepts to non-expert pet owners.
  • Demonstrated commitment to high standards of veterinary practice and patient care.
  • Proficient in using telemedicine technology and electronic health record systems.
