As a Network Security Engineer with a focus on cloud technologies, you will lead advanced networking and security engineering initiatives within the Defense Health Agency through the Naval Information Warfare Center's Engineering and Design Section. This role is pivotal in guiding the integration of cloud-based solutions into DHA's expansive network, which encompasses over 500,000 devices. Spearhead the technical aspects of network security projects with an emphasis on cloud solutions, providing direction and support to engineering teams. Design, develop, and implement sophisticated network security architectures that incorporate cloud technologies to solve complex problems within a large-scale network environment. Assess and recommend cloud-based technologies such as SD-WAN, Zero Trust frameworks, and Cloud Access Security Brokers (CASB) for potential deployment within the DHA enterprise. Lead the evaluation and integration of traditional and cloud-centric networking products, ensuring they meet DHA's strategic and security requirements. Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including white papers and information papers that outline cloud integration strategies, testing protocols, design specifications, and system recommendations. Oversee the design and deployment of cloud-integrated firewall solutions across 240+ clinical locations, achieving significant cost savings and robust security enhancements. Manage and mentor a team of nine personnel, with a focus on building cloud security expertise and aligning project objectives with organizational goals.
