Job Description

The fixed-term, part time (0.8 FTE) Senior Program Coordinator plans, coordinates, and leads complex initiatives within the Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health (MCAH) Program, supporting a broad portfolio of activities aimed at improving systems of care and advancing health equity for families in Marin County. This position holds primary responsibility for adolescent health initiatives and for programming related to children and youth with special health care needs. Convening and facilitating multi-sector community collaboratives comprised of community partners, healthcare providers, schools, and Health and Human Services (HHS) stakeholders Developing and managing complex scopes of work aligned with state and local priorities Coordinating cross-system efforts to improve service delivery and health outcomes Independently conducting research, analyzing data and policy trends, evaluating program effectiveness Supporting the development of new initiatives based on community need, best practices, and emerging health disparities Leading program communications strategy, including development of websites, reports, policy briefs, presentations, and other public-facing materials Supporting grant development and implementation Monitoring progress toward program goals Contributing to comprehensive needs assessment, planning, and evaluation activities The MCAH Program is characterized by its broad scope and systems-level focus on improving service delivery across sectors. This position requires a high degree of independence, collaboration, and strategic coordination across multiple initiatives designed to promote equity and improve maternal, child, and adolescent health outcomes.

Job Requirements

  • Knowledge of principles and practices of administering and evaluating programs
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures related to assigned program
  • Understanding of needs of clients served by public agency programs
  • Experience with data collection, data analysis, and application to management information system design and implementation
  • Familiarity with community resources for the provision of social services, education, and related services
  • Experience in contract development and monitoring
  • Knowledge of budget, utilization projections, and cost analysis
  • Ability to work with individuals, groups, and communities to promote program objectives
  • Ability to develop procedures and protocols necessary to implement project designs and administer data gathering instruments
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with program participants, co-workers, community organizations, private agencies, and other public agencies
  • Ability to manage competing demands
  • Ability to interpret, explain, and apply rules and regulations
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise written and oral reports
  • Ability to coordinate, facilitate, and conduct public meetings
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Minimum Qualifications
  • Equivalent to graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor's degree in a field closely related to the assigned program(s) and three years of experience providing community, educational or related services, which one year includes responsibility for program administration, planning, monitoring, and evaluation
  • A graduate degree in a field closely related to the assigned program(s) is highly desirable
