Job Description

The position is fully remote with the ideal candidate located within a two-hour radius of Pittsburgh, Washington, D.C., or Baltimore. This is not a full-time Construction Administration role, but the position will include field representation for multiple West Virginia University Medicine projects under construction (Berkeley, Fairmont, and Ruby campuses). Responsible for the design and technical systems for both small and large, complex healthcare projects from schematics through construction administration. Prior experience working on healthcare projects is essential. Use excellent internal and external communication skills both verbally and graphically to oversee project team milestone deliverables. Engage with the healthcare team as a hands-on leader of project team members. Act as a strategic thought leader to help grow the company and the sector.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree and licensure as an Architect in the US required.
NCARB Certification is preferred.
LEED Accredited preferred, with a passion for sustainable and resilient design.
Minimum ten years experience in the A/E industry, with proven specific experience in healthcare projects.
General knowledge of all aspects of professional services from schematic design through project close-out, including design and technical expertise.
A comprehensive understanding of the coordination aspects and related requirements of all design disciplines.
Good written and verbal English language communication skills as well as strong organizational skills.
Ability to motivate and mentor staff and delegate work assignments.
Proficient in Revit as well as Microsoft Word, Excel.
Willingness and ability to work with remote team members using video conferencing and other tools.
Very detail-oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and flexible.

Responsible for building system concepts and documentation processes from schematics through construction administration phases.
Ability to engage during project pursuits to support the Project Manager and Principal in Charge in the development of scope and fee.
Function as team leader on large, complex projects when assigned.
Responsible for overseeing project team members.
Prepare and monitor Discipline Work Plans.
Prepare and document code research for a project utilizing UpCodes platform.
Conduct material and product research as required for project development.
Develop/edit project specifications in RIB SpecLink.
When required, sign and seal documentation prepared under the candidate's direct responsible control.
Attend project meetings as necessary.
Interface with other discipline team leaders, and perform cross-discipline coordination throughout all project phases.
Lead technical reviews in accordance with the HED Design Process.
Work closely with authorities having jurisdiction to secure approvals.
Document interpretation and submittal reviews during bidding and construction administration.
Monitor staff to produce quality architectural and engineering services within a project team concept.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Physical Requirements
Capable of traveling to and from project sites to attend client, project, and construction meetings.
Ability to access existing and new project sites for observation, investigation, and evaluation purposes.
Ability to use equipment for communication and documentation purposes.
Visual acuity to perform responsibilities.
