Job Description
The Director, Accounting leads the lease and fleet management accounting function and supports the company’s consolidation and internal and external financial reporting processes.
Develops and manages accounting and reporting teams
Establishes and oversees finance and business processes to support accurate and timely financial information
Partners cross-functionally with global accounting, FP&A, Legal, HR, operations, and other business functions
Applies technical accounting expertise and governance to support financial reporting integrity and organizational change initiatives
Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee the lease and fleet management accounting team, providing leadership, guidance, and support for timely and accurate completion of financial close and reporting activities
Review lease and fleet management key contracts for proper accounting recognition
Work closely across the finance organization and with the legal department for complex transactions
Partner with business and functional teams to track and report financial performance and working capital management
Provide effective leadership and support to the accounting team, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement
Mentor and develop team members, enhancing their skills and knowledge
Drive and implement key finance and business initiatives as part of process transformation
Perform technical accounting research on complex issues and monitor prospective accounting changes
Support the consolidation and reporting process, identifying efficiency opportunities
Assist with oversight of accounting, reporting, cash and working capital management, and compliance
Facilitate internal and external audits, supporting SOX control testing
Support the Company’s internal / SEC reporting process as necessary
Develop and maintain efficient internal controls over financial reporting
Support management and executive leadership with financial reporting requests and special projects
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; master’s degree preferred
- 10+ years of experience in accounting and finance roles with increasing responsibilities
- Big 4 public accounting experience preferred; CPA required
- Expertise in technical accounting (e.g., US GAAP) and financial reporting
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage individuals in complex finance organizations
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Proficiency in financial software and systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with special projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Strong analytical, resource allocation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Remote with travel or based at global headquarters in Lake Oswego, Oregon
