Role Description

This role provides hands-on exposure to commercial real estate transactions while working closely with experienced real estate professionals and licensed counsel.

  • Draft and revise commercial real estate lease documents using approved templates, including leases, amendments, renewals, and exhibits
  • Incorporate business terms from letters of intent (LOIs), deal summaries, and redlines into lease drafts
  • Assist with document formatting, proofreading, and consistency checks
  • Prepare lease summaries or abstracts as requested
  • Track document versions and maintain organized electronic files
  • Respond to feedback and revisions from internal stakeholders and supervising counsel
  • Perform all work under the supervision of licensed attorneys or senior staff (no client-facing legal advice)

Qualifications

  • Current first-year law student (1L) at an ABA-accredited law school
  • Strong legal writing and attention to detail
  • Ability to follow templates, drafting instructions, and style guidelines
  • Comfort working independently in a remote environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word (including redlining and formatting)
  • Interest in commercial real estate or transactional law
  • Prior experience in real estate, legal support, or document drafting (paralegal, title company, brokerage, or in-house exposure) a plus
  • Coursework or demonstrated interest in contracts or property law
