Role Description

Due to continued growth and acquisitions in the pipeline, we are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our dynamic accounting team. The ideal candidate is highly organized with a passion for numbers and a strong understanding of corporate/management company accounting principles. • Day to day/full cycle accounting for a portfolio of 10-12 self-storage properties and two management companies
• Prepare monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP for assigned entities including bank reconciliations, journal entries, reclasses, expense accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and maintenance of supporting workpapers
• Monitor cash and ensure sufficient liquidity for properties
• Review and approve payables in Yardi/Procure to Pay workflow
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasting
• Track expenditures against budgets and submit loan draws
• Ensure loan covenants are met and track critical dates
• Prepare workpapers for annual federal tax filings
• Manage and record corporate credit card
• Record and reconcile intercompany transactions between Management company and 50+ properties
• Dedication to continuously improve accounting processes
• Assist with special tasks and projects as requested

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with 7+ years of relevant experience. CPA or advanced degree a plus.
• 1-2+ years of recent hands on experience with YARDI Voyager is preferred
• Experience in management company accounting for a real estate company
• Advanced Excel and analytical skills
• Attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills
• Thrive in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines
• Get it done attitude and strong sense of ownership
