Role Description
Due to continued growth and acquisitions in the pipeline, we are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our dynamic accounting team. The ideal candidate is highly organized with a passion for numbers and a strong understanding of corporate/management company accounting principles. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to be part of a fast-paced environment, get exposure to all facets of their portfolio and be part of a top-quality organization.
- Day to day/full cycle accounting for a portfolio of 10-12 self-storage properties and two management companies
- Prepare monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP for assigned entities including bank reconciliations, journal entries, reclasses, expense accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and maintenance of supporting workpapers
- Monitor cash and ensure sufficient liquidity for properties
- Review and approve payables in Yardi/Procure to Pay workflow
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasting
- Track expenditures against budgets and submit loan draws
- Ensure loan covenants are met and track critical dates
- Prepare workpapers for annual federal tax filings
- Manage and record corporate credit card
- Record and reconcile intercompany transactions between Management company and 50+ properties
- Dedication to continuously improve accounting processes
- Assist with special tasks and projects as requested
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with 7+ years of relevant experience. CPA or advanced degree a plus.
- 1-2+ years of recent hands on experience with YARDI Voyager is preferred
- Experience in management company accounting for a real estate company
- Advanced Excel and analytical skills
- Attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills
- Thrive in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines
- Get it done attitude and strong sense of ownership
